The Medallion Fulfillment & Logistics Team
G ene Kent, President
When Gene was four, his Dad bought him a small desk and moved it into the office of the family hardware store, placing it right next to his own big desk. Soon the tyke was stapling papers and counting parts right along with his Dad. Gene learned how to run a business by working along side his father, his skills growing as he did.
Armed with a degree in business administration and accounting from UCLA, Gene started his career in large-scale managerial and accounting systems design. Coupled with what he learned working with his Dad in the family hardware store, it gave Gene a solid, practical knowledge of successful business practices and their application in both very large corporate and very small entrepreneurial businesses. Because Gene has been there himself, he is able to step into a client's shoes – big or small – and custom design the services they need to be most successful.
Gene was born with the Kent family entrepreneurial spirit and strong work ethic. Even while working full-time, Gene always operated a part-time family business on the side. Gene started Medallion 25 years ago with a single customer and, like many other American success stories, ran his fulfillment business out of the family garage. Hard work and long hours paid off and Medallion started to take off. With a growing client list, 12 years ago Gene decided to throw all his efforts into Medallion, expanding the company's services, facilities and staff.
With the help and support of his entire family – particularly his wife of 37 years, Isabel, and son, Greg, now the Vice President of Operations – Gene's once small dream has grown into a successful and profitable business. With son, Greg, sharing the helm and his four year old grandson starting to take an interest, the Kent family entrepreneurial spirit will carry Medallion well into the next century. Lately, Gene and Greg have been thinking about digging that pint-sized desk out of the attic and installing it in the Medallion office. It's time for a new generation to embrace the Kent family tradition!

Greg Kent, Vice President Operations
Sharing his Dad's strong work ethic and Grandfather's innate business sense, Greg started in the family business as a part-timer while in high school. A personable young man, Greg honed his considerable management and customer service skills with an early job managing a bowling alley before going to work for a large-scale fulfillment house to earn practical, hands-on experience in the business.
Greg's years of experience working with an industry giant brought an additional layer of fulfillment experience to Medallion Fulfillment & Logistics that has been a key factor in the firm's continuing growth. With Greg's expertise, Medallion was able to expand into large-scale logistics, including LTL, container and large-volume shipping. Greg's commitment to excellence and desire to grow the business provided the catalyst that spurred Medallion's expansion into a full-time, full-service fulfillment house.
Greg's commitment to Medallion's clients is legendary. He is the "key staffer" alluded to in the case studies who flew to Colorado at the eleventh hour and stayed up all night to make sure a client's new product got off the ground successfully and on time. (Read the whole story under Case Studies.) Like his Dad and his Grandfather before him, Greg understands the importance of meeting the client's needs. With other key employees, Greg is on call 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year. If a client has a problem or emergency, Greg, Gene or Warehouse Operations Manager, Vince, will get the call and solve the problem or handle the emergency immediately.
Greg believes in treating his clients' businesses with the same care and concern he gives his own. It's the way the Kent family has always done business and the philosophy that drives Medallion Fulfillment & Logistics' success: When you work with Medallion, you work with a partner dedicated to your success and profitability. It's a lesson Greg and his wife are teaching their young son who can often be found following his Dad and Granddad around the warehouse, already eager to step into their shoes!
